German Studies Information, Ltd., is a not-for-profit educational corporation originally founded to create and manage the German Studies Database on scholars in the USA and Canada. Monatshefte has published a directory of German Studies every five years for the last 20 years, with chief funding through the 1995 edition from the Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (DAAD). The 2000 Directory, funded by both Monatshefte and the Max Kade Institute, became available in July, 2001.
